My name is Fr. Jakub and I am the Catholic Chaplain at Rider (like the collar didn’t give that away). I am also the chaplain at Notre Dame High School down the street and the Diocesan Director for the Catholic Campaign for Human Development. I also manage the vocation website for the Diocese of Trenton take a look, it’s the best (but of course I think that).
I grew up in Eatontown, NJ, and am the youngest in my family I have 4 older bros (I know, I know, my poor mother, heard that a thousand times). I went to St. Jerome elementary school in West Long Branch (Fillippini sisters are THE BEST) and Monmouth Regional HS. Graduated college from the Franciscan University of Steubenville (Ohio) in 2000 and then went to St. Charles Borromeo Seminary in Philadelphia (great seminary if your discerning a priestly call). I was ordained for the Diocese of Trenton by Bishop John Smith in 2006 and I gotta say I love being a Catholic Priest! My first priestly assignment was St. Aloysius Parish in Jackson (I know the boondocks, but a good parish nonetheless) where I served for 3 years before coming to Rider .
Email me at jjakub@rider.edu. I’m pretty much always around so if you’re at something with CCM, chances are you’ll run into me (again look for the collar – and the big bald head – and that’s probably me).
Sean O’Hare graduated magna cum laude from Rider University in 2003, where he played Division One Soccer and received the President’s Award. Upon graduation, Sean was selected to deliver the commencement address. Sean is an Entrepreneur and founder, chief operating officer and president for multiple business ventures. He formed and continues to manage iThink Technologies, a business dedicated to excellence in energy management and integrated sub-systems in the upscale custom-home and commercial market. Most recently, O’Hare guided the company to incorporate energy efficient and green building technologies as a new venture, Sensible Energies.
Sean leads and directs the Men’s Faith, Life & Food Night each Tuesday Night at 7pm at Emmaus House. You can email him at seanpohare@gmail.com.
My name is Jeff, and I’m a New Jersey native, growing up in Bergen County, and now residing in Ewing. I went to Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, NY, for Computer Science. After college, I moved to Plainsboro to work, and got back into the practice of my Catholic faith, attending Mass regularly, participating in Bible studies, and reading the Catechism. Now I’m helping Rider students make sense of the Sunday readings, by understanding them in their context and relating them to college life.
